High-speed Audi car hits an elderly man on Sunday leaving him dead in Noida. The deceased was crossing the road to get milk near Kanchenjunga Apartment in Sector 53, Noida when the tragic accident happened. The hit was so sever that he fell feets away on the road.
The incident was captured in CCTV following which, the police at Sector 24 station have registered a case against an unknown white car on the basis of the complaint in this matter.
The deceased has been identified as Janak Dev Shah (63), a resident of Sector 53 and retired from Akashvani. He was passing on the road near Kanchenjunga Apartment when a high speed Audi car hit him. When Shah did not return home for a long time, his family members started looking for him and found him lying dead on the road.
Family alleges inaction by police
The family members alleged that even after complaining to the police, no action was taken. Later, they themselves collected the CCTV footage of the incident and reached Sector 24 station with a large number of people. After this a case has been registered. However, the case has been registered against an unknown white vehicle. Police say that on the basis of the complaint of the plaintiff, a case has been registered under relevant sections. CCTV footage etc. is being investigated, other necessary further action is being taken.
Pune Porsche case
Notably, the incident comes days after chilling Pune Porsche accident case, where a minor allegedly knocked down two motorbike-borne software engineers in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune city in the early hours of May 19. The police claims that the boy was drunk at the time of the accident. At first, the Juvenile Justice Board took a linent view of the case, ruling a moral punishment of writing essays, among others for the accused. However, the police filed a review application and later arrested the accused's father and even grilled his grandfather.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra deputy CM Devedra Fadnavis, who also holds Home department had also asserted that firm action would be taken.
