Noida: In a shocking incident, an identified man on Friday morning died allegedly after he jumped in front of a metro train here. According to police, the incident took place at the Sector 52 station here on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's corridor.
"The incident was reported in the morning after which officials of the local Sector 49 police station rushed to the spot," the official said.
Efforts are on to ascertain his identity
"The deceased appeared to have been around 35 years of age. Efforts are on to ascertain his identity," the official added.
The police further informed that the body of the unidentified man has been sent for post-mortem and further legal proceedings have been initiated in the matter.
Similar incident had occurred before
Earlier, a similar incident occurred at the Noida Sector-34 metro station, when a 32-year-old engineer died after allegedly jumping in front of a moving train.
According to the information provided by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Harish Chander, the deceased was identified as Prashant Dixit, originally from Bhadohi, was an engineer by profession and was living in Noida Sector 74.
He was worried about getting a job
Chander further said that Dixit studied engineering in Mumbai in 2017 and was worried about getting a job.
The DCP said, "After Dixit jumped in front of the metro train, Central Industrial Security Force personnel present at the spot pulled him out and took him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead."
