Char Murti Chowk traffic revamp to begin soon
Residents of Greater Noida (West) may soon get relief from constant traffic congestion as the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has given efforts to tackle the issue the stronger the. On Wednesday, officials announced that the renovation of Char Murthy Chowk would soon begin to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles in the area.
Measures to reduce traffic congestion
GNIDA has proposed several measures to reduce traffic congestion between Char Murti Chowk and Ek Murti roundabout:
- Redesigning Char Murti Chowk: The size of the chowk will be reduced to improve vehicle flow.
- Road expansion: The road width in key areas will be increased.
- Auto and e-rickshaw management: Steps will be taken to regulate parking and movement of autos and e-rickshaws to reduce obstructions.
U-turns and service roads
GNIDA plans to construct U-turns near Gaur City 1 and 2 and extend service lanes.
- A U-turn will enable seamless traffic movement from Gaur City to the Tigri roundabout.
- Another U-turn will facilitate smoother travel from Noida to Gaur City.
Underpass project coming up
GNIDA also unveiled plans to construct a ramp at Char Murthy Chowk to further reduce congestion. Pre-construction work, including the relocation of sewers, electrical lines, and gas lines, is already underway.
