The Allahabad High Court on Monday granted bail to gangster Mukhtar Ansari’s brother Afzal Ansari. The High Court the court has refused to stay the four-year sentence in the gangster case. Ansari was convicted and sentenced to 4 years in prison in a Gangster Act Case.
He is currently lodged in Ghazipur jail. Ansari was disqualified as a member of Lok Sabha in May following his conviction and sentence to a four-year jail term in a criminal case. He had filed an appeal in the High Court seeking a stay on the sentence and release on bail.
