Uttar Pradesh: The Meerut unit of Congress on Saturday complained to the police against actress Archana Gautam alleging that she extorts money by threatening fake cases and demanded strict action against her. The complainants in the letter submitted to the police said that the actress had taken many vehicles on rent during the elections, but had not paid the rent. Congress further said that when the actress was contacted, she was out of reach. "Many of our officials tried to contact Gautam but could not reach her," said Congress.
Actress threatens to file a case under Harassment Act
Congress in the complaint letter alleged that after a few months when she (Archana Gautam) came to Meerut, a meeting was held with her in this regard. However, the actress threatened everyone that no one should mention the matter in front of her again, otherwise, she would file a case under the Harassment Act. Archana Gautam also misbehaved with many women workers, as per the letter. Once Archana Gautam and her father forcibly took away two boxes of paint and white cement from the Meerut office. When the actress was refused, she again threatened to sue those who were stopping her.
To be in the limelight the actress did a high-voltage drama in the premises of Tirupati temple. Even in the Raipur convention, Gautam resorted to drama and got a false and fake case filed against a prominent leader of the party.
In the press note, Meerut Congress alleged that Archana Gautam creates drama as a well-thought-out strategy. She uses political platforms to get publicity and money. She has made it her profession to defame eminent people and create controversies. Moreover, her father is infamous in the city for extorting money. The actress had demanded Rs 5 crore from a big leader of the party.
Archana Gautam was expelled from the party in June
Earlier in June, the actress was expelled from the party due to indiscipline. Due to this, she is again conspiring to create controversy. The complainants also alleged that some officer or personnel within the Meerut police administration connived or helped Gautam.
