Jansatta Dal (Loktantrik) president and Uttar Pradesh's Kunda MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Bengaluru amid intense campaign for the third phase of Lok SAbha elections 2024. Though, the agenda of their meeting is unclear but it is speculated that the BJP may get his support in UP. After meeting Shah, Raja Bhaiya said he will support the BJP candidate from Kaushambi seat.

He was initially uncomfortable with Kaushambi MP Vinod Sonkar who was again fielded by the BJP from Kaushambi as Sonkar had openly opposed him on many occasions. However, in the meeting, held amidst changed circumstances, Raja Bhaiya assured Shah that he will support Sonkar.

Raja Bhaiya had already declared his support to the Bharatiya Janata Party, but there was apprehension in his mind regarding Kaushambi seat. However, after meeting Shah, now all the doubts have been ended as Raja Bhaiya openly announced to support BJP candidate Sonkar.

The voting in the Kaushambi Lok Sabha Constituency will be held on 20 May in the fifth Phase.
