Political drama in Lucknow touches a new height after SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, who was barred from visiting the JPNIC, garlanded Lok Nayak's statue outside his residence amid the party workers chanting against the state government. Speaking, at the occasion, Akhilesh Yadav in a strong worded statement lashed out at the Yogi government, by calling it a 'dumb, deaf and blind'.
He mentioned, "This govt is dumb, deaf and blind. Today is Ramnavami, and look what kind of Adharm they are committing today. If it wouldn't have been festival today, these barricades couldn't have stopped Samajwadis."
Significantly, the SP chief, taking a dig at the state government, also accused them of conspiring to sell the museum and hence they have covered the same. "We celebrate his (Jai Prakash Narayan) birth anniversary...This govt is trying to stop us from garlanding him, but we did it on the road. They are conspiring to sell this museum and hence they have covered JPNIC. Just think that the govt which is trying to sell the museum built to respect Jai Prakash Narayan, how you can expect that they will protect the Constitution," he remarked.
Moreover, speaking at the occasion, Yadav also called on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar (who emerged from the JP movement only) to withdraw his support from the NDA, as it is allowing others to pay tributes to Lok Nayak on his birth anniversary.
"Many of the socialist people are in the government and helping the government to continue. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar emerged from his (Jai Prakash Narayan) movement; this is a chance for Nitish Kumar to withdraw support from the government, which is not allowing the Socialists to pay tribute to Jai Prakash Narayan on his birth anniversary," Akhiesh Yadav added.
