India TV-CNX Opinion Poll: Despite a desperate attempt by the opposition to stitch a 26-party mega alliance to challenge the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the saffron party may still register a thumping victory. According to India TV-CNX Opinion Poll, the BJP-led NDA is likely to win 73 seats out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh if polls are held now - the biggest win for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Opposition alliance INDIA may win the remaining seven seats in UP, says the poll projection.
The Opinion Poll has predicted 73 Lok Sabha seats for BJP-led NDA in Uttar Pradesh in 2024, and SP-RLD may get 5 seats (SP 4, RLD 1). The BSP is unlikely to open its account in the elections. SBSP which joined the NDA recently may win 1 seat.
The BJP-led NDA is all set to gain 9 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh as against the SP which is likely to lose 1 seat in 2024.
According to India TV-CNX Opinion Poll, the BJP is likely to get 52% of votes in Uttar Pradesh, SP is expected to get 23% of votes in 2024. BSP is in the third spot with 12% votes. Congress may get just 4% of the votes.
In the 2024 polls, Congress, Samajwadi Party, and RLD are a part of the grand Opposition alliance I.N.D.I.A. Mayawati, however, has announced that her party would not join any alliance and go solo in the next year's general elections. The latest political equations in Uttar Pradesh, which holds the most number of Lok Sabha seats in the country, seem to have little impact on the outcome of the polls in the state, according to the Opinion Poll.
2019 poll outcome
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP had won 62 seats while its rival Samajwadi Party led by Akhilesh Yadav was confined to 5 seats. BJP’s ally Apna Dal (S) won 2 and Congress settled with a single seat. Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party managed to touch the double figures with 10 seats in the last elections.
SP and BSP had contested the 2019 polls together and the duo managed to share 15 seats between them out of the 80.
BJP is predicted to sweep all 26 LS seats from Gujarat and all five seats from Uttarakhand, while it may win 20 out of 28 LS seats from Karnataka, leaving seven seats for the INDIA alliance and one for Janata Dal(S), according to the projection.
