In a bone-chilling hit-and-run incident, a toll plaza employee was mowed down by a car on the Delhi-Lucknow highway in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur on Sunday. The incident that took place at the Chhajarsi toll plaza was captured on CCTV.
The video shows the car deliberately moving towards the employee and crushing him. The victim can be seen trying to get out of the vehicle's way in vain. According to reports, the car had tried to escape the plaza without paying the toll following which the employee decided to chase the car on foot. This angered the car driver, leading him to a U-turn and crush him.
Varun Mishra, DCP, Pilkhua Circle confirmed that the driver had deliberately rammed his car at the plaza employee. He said, "A person deliberately rammed his car at Chhajarsi Toll Plaza employee. A case has been registered & the accused will be apprehended at the earliest..."
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Pilakhua. Mishra said, "We have filed an FIR under the relevant sections of the IPC and are making efforts to apprehend the accused driver." The victim guard was taken to a nearby government hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.
