A team of Archeological Survey of India (ASI) officials arrived at the mosque complex to conduct a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi mosque on the fifth day of the survey on Tuesday morning. "The survey will start at 8 am today...It seems the survey of the dome hasn't been completed. 'Tahkhana' is also being surveyed...Without removing the rubble, photography and videography is not possible," said lawyer of the Hindu side, Sudhir Tripathi.
On August 3, the Allahabad High Court made a critical ruling certifying the continuation of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) Survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque premises. In a setback to the petition recorded by the Muslim litigants, the court dismissed their solicitation for a stay on the order request gave by the Varanasi court.
The court accentuated that the scientific survey by ASI was essential in the pursuit of justice. It, in any case, was clarified that the study wouldn't include any type of excavation inside the premises.
Fourth day of survey
The ASI survey of the Gyanvapi mosque was deferred momentarily on Monday because of a surge of devotees at the neighboring Kashi Vishwanath temple. Mondays in the long stretch of 'sawan' hold extraordinary importance for devotees, who line up at sanctuaries to offer prayers to Lord Shiva.
As a horde of fans accumulated at the Kashi Vishwanath sanctuary, the survey began three hours late at 11 am and gone on till 5 pm. Monday was the fourth day of the activity being completed by the Archeological Study of India (ASI) on court directives.
A few individuals from the Anjuman Intezamia Mosque Committee, which deals with the Gyanvapi mosque, and the nearby imam were available during the survey.
The survey will continue at 8 am on Tuesday, government advocate Rajesh Mishra said. Measuring, mapping and photography of the whole complex is being finished, he said. The ASI communicated solid disappointment over reports being flowed about the continuous work and requested that the administration check this, Mishra said, as reported by news agency PTI.
