A major accident was averted when a head constable of the Government Railway Police (GRP) saved a woman in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur from being crushed by a train.
In a video shared by the Uttar Pradesh Police on its Twitter account, a woman can be seen trying to get down from a moving train when she loses her balance and falls on the platform. But before she could fall further between the tracks and the moving train an alert official caught and pulled her away from danger. The woman was traveling with two children as seen in the video.
The official has been identified as Head Constable Shailendra of the UP GRP.
Applauding the heroic act of the official the UP police said, "Train(ed) to rescue- Saluting the heroic act of HC Shailendra of UP GRP who saved a woman from falling off the railway track with incredible agility at Kanpur central railway stn."
Further advising passengers to be careful while boarding and deboarding it said, "Boarding or disembarking a moving train can be fatal & should be avoided at all cost."
Earlier, in a similar incident, a constable of the Government Railway Police (GRP) saved a woman in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad from being crushed by a train when she tried to cross the train tracks to reach a platform.
The viral video showed the woman crossing the railway tracks at Firozabad Railway Station. Unaware of the speeding train, the woman walked on the tracks. She tried to get on the platform as the train neared but was unable to lift herself off the tracks. This was when a brave GRP official stepped in and pulled her onto the platform.
