CM Yogi gives update on Ram Temple

"Today, the grand and divine under-construction temple of Lord Shri Ram in the sacred Ayodhya has been completed with an electricity connection. Gratitude to UPPCL for the unprecedented work of illuminating this national temple. Hearty congratulations to all the devotees of Ram and the people of the state on the completion of this much-awaited Ram Temple project," CM Yogi wrote on X.

Consecration ceremony

Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust stepped up preparations for the mega 'Pran Pratistha' (consecration) ceremony of the temple scheduled to be held on January 22, 2024.

The trust distributed a large number of invitation cards to dignitaries from different walks of life to attend the holy event. General Secretary of Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust Champat Rai said at least 4,000 sages (sadhus) are being invited to the 'pranpratishtha' ceremony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. The Uttar Pradesh government’s Department of Tourism and Culture will organise the event with the help of the Tourism and Cultural Council in each district. Also, the temple management prepared a series of religious events to mark the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple. The first event will start from Makar Sankranti (January 14-15) and continue till the inauguration of the Ram temple on January 22.

During the consecration ceremony, the idol of Ram Lalla will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.  The temple trust has decided to start the process of the consecration of Ram Lalla after Makar Sankranti on January 14 and observe a 10-day ritual of Ram Lalla's 'pran pratishtha' (consecration).

Around 4,000 saints and 2,500 eminent citizens will be present at the historic moment of Prana Pratishta of Shri Vigraha of Bhagwan Shri Ramlalla Sarkar at Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.

The Supreme Court in a 2019 verdict had paved the way for the construction of a Ram temple by a trust at the disputed site in Ayodhya and directed the Centre to allot an alternative five-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a new mosque at a "prominent" place in the holy town of Uttar Pradesh. The court had ruled that the 2.77 acres of the disputed land where the demolished 16th century-era Babri Masjid once stood will remain with a Central government receiver and be handed over to the trust within three months of the ruling for the construction of the temple.
