Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that under double-engine government and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the perception towards the state has changed adding today people look towards UP with respect. The chief minister made this statement while addressing the legislative Assembly.
"Uttar Pradesh under double-engine government and guidance of PM Modi, I can say this as a common man and a public representative that the perception towards the state has changed. Today, people look towards UP with respect," Yogi Adityanath said.
Taking a dig at former CM Akhilesh Yadav, CM Yogi said that his (Samajwadi Party) government used to present wrong facts in the Assembly adding people have not forgotten their misdeeds.
"...There was a SP government in the state four times... Today, people's outlook towards Uttar Pradesh has changed... This is the new Uttar Pradesh of New India... The opposition members too should be happy if our UP will move forward and make economic progress...," Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.
"...In 2016-17, the GSDP of the UP was nearly Rs 13 lakh crore... Today, in 2023–24, it is nearly Rs 24.5 lakh crore... The budget of the state has increased... Out of the total population of the country, 16 per cent live in the state... The average budget has doubled since 2017... We are moving forward with this budget for the all-round development of the state...," the chief minister added.
