A 17-year-old boy fell to his death from the 18th floor of a high-rise in Greater Noida on Tuesday morning. The class 12th boy Pranav Srivastava died soon as he fell down. The case is of the Gaur Saundaryam Housing Society in Bisrakh police station area of Greater Noida.
The Bisrakh police station received information around 6:30 am on Tuesday that a young boy had fallen from the 24th floor of the Gaur Saundaryam Housing Society within the jurisdiction of the police station and had died. The supervisor of the society informed the police after the incident. After the information, the police arrived at the scene, took custody of the youth's body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
Police suspect suicide
After speaking with family members, the police came to know that the deceased's name was Pranav, and he was 17 years old. He was studying in class 12 and lived at the location with his mother and sister. His father, Dr Aman Srivastava, is a professor at an MBA college in Dubai, while his mother is an advocate. They are originally from Gorakhpur.
However, the police have said that in the preliminary investigation, this case appears to be a suicide.
Pranav used to sneak out of house from balcony
The remaining points are being investigated. At what time he fell from the 24th floor is not yet clear. He often used to sneak out late at night to meet his friends. Pranav had a path in his flat that led to the balcony, which he would use late at night to meet his friends. After Pranav's death, there is mourning in the entire house.
Bisrakh police station in-charge Anil Rajput said, "A 17-year-old boy Pranav has died after falling from the 24th floor. The body of the deceased has been taken into custody and sent for postmortem. His family members are also present on the spot. Till now no complaint has been received from the family members. If the complaint is received then further action will be taken. Prima facie this case appears to be a suicide. Everything will become clear after the post-mortem report comes. We are investigating at every angle."
