Lokendra Pratap Singh, a BJP MLA from Mohammadabad Assembly constituency in Lakhimpur Kheri district, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday claimed that he was being targeted by individuals using black magic. In a Facebook post, the BJP MLA posted a photo of what he believes to be a setup for black magic aimed at him.
Someone placed a photo of the MLA in the basket, along with various items like lentils, vermilion (sindoor), a bottle filled with a yellow-brown-coloured liquid and half a piece of what looks like a round fruit or a vegetable. A supporter of the MLA took this picture and sent it to the MLA. As soon as the photo was received, the MLA wrote a long caption on Facebook.
'Nothing is going to happen with such tricks'
Singh in a Facebook post said that he was not afraid of these tricks as he was a devotee of Lord Shiva. "They are doing sorcery against me by placing my photo. They do not know that I am an ardent devotee of Bholenath. Nothing is going to happen with such tricks. But these people who still believe in such tricks even in this century when science has reached the moon have a distorted mentality. May God give you good wisdom, friend and I wish you good luck too," he said.
As soon as MLA Lokendra Pratap Singh posted the picture on Facebook, his supporters started sharing that picture vigorously. Now, after the image went viral on social media, people are commenting on the MLA's post, expressing the view that such superstitious practices are ineffective.
