Baghpat: A massive fire broke out at a hospital in Baraut city of Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning, causing panic. The fire broke out on the terrace of Aastha Hospital located on the Delhi-Saharanpur road in Baraut.
After the fire, chaos ensued in the hospital, and approximately 12 patients, along with some children admitted to the hospital, were hastily shifted to another location. The fire department team arrived upon receiving the information and successfully brought the fire under control. Fortunately no casualties have been reported.
Amarendra Pratap Singh, Chief Fire Officer said, " Fire broke out at the hospital and fire tenders were rushed to the spot. A total of four fire tenders are at the spot and the fire is under control. There were 12 patients inside and all of them were evacuated safely. There are no casualties. The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit, but further investigation is needed to confirm. Additionally, it remains unclear what caused the fire on the upper floor, which was closed at the time of the incident. Further details will be known once the investigation is completed."
Seven children killed in Delhi hospital fire
This comes a day after seven newborns were killed in a massive fire that broke ut at a New Born Baby Care Hospital in the Vivek Vihar area of the national capital.
On information, police officials and firefighters reached the area and doused the fire. As per a fire officer, the fire was extinguished completely, and a total of 12 children were rescued, out of which seven died and five others were admitted to the hospital.
Dr Naveen Khichi, the owner of New Born Baby Care Hospital, was arrested by the police on Sunday a day after seven babies were killed in a fire incident at his hospital building.
