Ayodhya’s Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order), Surjit Singh, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his residence in the Sursari Colony, Civil Lines area of Kotwali Nagar. The cause of death remains unclear at this stage, and an investigation is underway. The exact cause of death is still unclear, and officials including the divisional commissioner and district magistrate are at the scene.
Police investigation underway
Surjit Singh was reportedly at home when his body was found in the morning. Police and officials rushed to the scene after the discovery. ADM’s body has been sent for post-mortem while authorities are actively investigating the incident. So far, family members have not commented on the incident.
Blood spattered around the room
Blood was found on the floor around the room, according to reports. A forensic team also arrived to gather evidence. Originally from Farrukhabad, Singh was in Jaunpur before being posted to Ayodhya. It remains unclear whether his death was a suicide or homicide. Police said the cause of death would be clear once the investigation and post-mortem report are completed.
