Noida Police initiated legal action against Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi MLA Amanatullah Khan and his son following an alleged altercation with employees at a petrol station in Sector 95. An FIR has been filed against them, encompassing charges of assault and criminal intimidation. The incident reportedly unfolded when Khan's son, purportedly bypassing the queue, demanded immediate service, leading to a confrontation with the station's staff. Additional DCP Noida, Manish Kumar Mishra, confirmed the registration of the FIR, which also includes unnamed individuals.

Khan's defence

Denying the allegations, Khan dismissed them as biased and maintained his innocence, labelling the police action as one-sided. He argued that his son, a law student, faced mistreatment from the petrol pump staff and accused them of exploiting incomplete CCTV footage to tarnish his reputation. Despite efforts to resolve the matter amicably with the station's owner, Khan claimed he was unjustly implicated in the case by the police.

Complainant's account

According to Vinod Kumar Singh, a petrol station employee, the altercation occurred around 9:27 am when Khan's son arrived in his car and demanded preferential treatment, bypassing the queue. Allegedly, the situation escalated when the son physically assaulted a salesman, brandishing an iron rod and causing damage to the station's property. Singh detailed the chaotic scene, mentioning the intervention of other staff members and the subsequent involvement of senior employees, who eventually called the police.

Legal ramifications

The FIR, filed under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 323, 504, 506, and 427, highlights the seriousness of the alleged offences. These charges encompass actions ranging from voluntary causing hurt to criminal intimidation and mischief. The legal proceedings are set to unfold as both sides present their arguments and evidence to substantiate their respective claims. As the case progresses, the court will assess the merits of the accusations and determine the appropriate course of action by the law.
