India are set to take on South Africa in the final of the 2024 edition of the World Cup. These two teams are facing each other for the first time in an ICC final and are set to create history. No team has ever won a men's T20 World Cup unbeaten and both of them are yet to lose a game in the ongoing tournament. India have made their way into their third T20 final, while the Proteas will be playing in their first final across the two formats of the World Cup.
Both teams have been dominant in the tournament. The Proteas have won eight out of eight matches, while the Men in Blue have won seven with one of their games getting washed out in the group stage.
In the Super Eight stage, India defeated Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia to make their way into the semifinal, where they took their 2022 revenge against England with a thumping win. The 2007 champions ended England's title defence with a 68-run thumping in the last-four clash.
South Africa have been involved in nerve-wracking games mostly. They got the better of the USA, England and West Indies in the Super 8 stage before thrashing Afghanistan in the semifinal to book their maiden men's World Cup final berth.
