The warmth of Indian hospitality has once again captured hearts online, this time thanks to a chance encounter in Bihar. A video circulating on social media shows an elderly Indian man stepping in to help British vloggers Reanne and Ben negotiate auto fare.
The clip, shared by the vloggers themselves on their Instagram page (@otwd_yt), features them trying to hail an auto-rickshaw in Patna. As they discuss the fare with the driver, a kind-faced gentleman intervenes. The video doesn't capture the entire conversation, but it shows the man speaking to the driver and then to the vloggers.

“This is how they treat you in Patna, India,” reads the caption on the video shared on the vloggers' joint Instagram page. In the clip, an elderly man asks the auto driver for the fare. He then negotiates with the driver, insisting that the foreigners should not be charged more than the standard fare.
Since its release, the video has garnered over 2.8 million views, and the count continues to rise. Additionally, it has attracted numerous comments from viewers.
A man recounted, "Just about yesterday, two foreigners (ladies) bought fruits on the road but could not communicate it to the seller. Fortunately, I was there having fruit salad. I hence could intervene and help them out, which eventually led to a beautiful moment of them thanking me, saying ‘dhanyawaad’ with folded hands, and it indeed was heartwarming,"
Another person commented, "Uncle is a real gem." A third added, "He asked not to take a single rupee extra other than ₹100 as you are our guest. Also, he was bargaining for ₹75, but the driver disagreed."
A fourth individual wrote, "This heartwarming video truly captures the essence of Bihar’s hospitality! Amidst misconceptions, an outpouring of kindness speaks volumes about our culture. Let’s celebrate the good souls who extend a helping hand without hesitation. This is the real Bihar!"
Instagram user Arpit Setya proudly identified the Bihar man as his father-in-law, stating, "That’s my father-in-law! He’s the nicest, sweetest human being you’ll ever know!"
According to YouTube, British vloggers Reanne and Ben, who operate the Instagram page otwd_yt, have been travelling full-time for three years, visiting 63 countries across five continents to share unique cultural interactions and human-interest stories.
