The first case in Kanpur was reported on Oct 23 when an IAF warrant officer tested positive for Zika virus.
A house-to-house survey was conducted by 65 surveillance teams of health, civic, para-medical personnel and staff of local administration in the affected areas, including IAF station on Monday.
The total number of Zika virus cases in the city has now touched 10, of which the six persons tested positive for the infection on late Sunday evening.
A high alert has been sounded in the periphery of hangars of IAF at the Maintenance Command, besides the adjoining civilian localities, including Pardewanpurwa and Pokharpur localities regarding the mosquito-borne virus.
A team of senior administrative and health officials visited Pardevanpurwa in Pokharpur where state's 1st Zika case was reported on Saturday and reviewed steps taken for prevention and treatment of infection.
The team will recommend necessary public health interventions for the management of Zika in the state, a statement said.
The affected, according to reports is an Air Force Station personnel and has been admitted to Air Force Hospital.
Elaborating on the measures taken by the government, Mandaviya said the Union Ministry of Health has prepared and widely disseminated Zika action plan, detailing control and containment activities to be followed in the event of an outbreak.
Springing into action, the Union Health Ministry on Monday rushed a multidisciplinary team to Maharashtra to monitor the Zika virus situation and support the state government in the management of cases.
The first case of Zika virus infection in Maharashtra has been reported from Purandar tehsil in Pune district. A 50-year-old woman from Belsar village in Purandar tehsil was detected with fever in mid-July and her sample tested positive for Zika infection.
The 50-year-old woman, a resident of Belsar village in Purandar tehsil, received her test report on Friday. The report said that besides Zika infection, she was also infected by the Chickungunya virus.
Kerala on Sunday reported two more cases of Zika virus taking the tally of the mosquito-borne infections to 48, state Health Minister Veena George said.
