Data from stock exchanges has showed that ace stock market investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala bought Yes Bank shares worth Rs 87 crore. According to the data, Jhunjunwala purchased 12.95 million shares of the lender at a price of Rs 67.1 apiece.
The scrip made a weak opening and tumbled 9.98 per cent to Rs 59.95 on the BSE. At the NSE, it cracked 14.93 per cent to Rs 56.65. Later, it witnessed some recovery and was trading at Rs 66.20, 0.60 per cent lower on the BSE in afternoon trade
Singapore-based DBS Bank said on Saturday that reports claiming that it will acquire controlling stakes in Yes Bank were false. "The rumours of DBS acquiring a stake in Yes Bank are unfounded and baseless," a DBS spokesperson told IANS.
The fund raise is subject to regulatory approvals and bank's board and shareholders approvals, it said in a regulatory filing.
Private sector lender Yes Bank on Monday offloaded 6.56 per cent stake in leading hospital chain Fortis Healthcare for a little over Rs 645 crore through an open market transaction. After the sale, the lender now holds just 1,850 shares in the hospital chain, latest shareholding data available with the BSE showed.
