The water level reached 205.30 metres at 7 pm on Saturday, prompting authorities here to evacuate people from low-lying areas, officials said.
"The water level in the Yamuna river has reached 5.25 lakh cusecs mark as of now and we are continuously monitoring the situation," said Yamunanagar Deputy Commissioner Girish Arora.

The government has alerted concerned authorities to make all preparations in view of the rising water level in Yamuna.
When India TV went to Haryana’s Sonipat and nearby areas to know the condition of the Yamuna river’s basin, glaring facts came to light. There isn’t a drop of water left and one can cross the river basin by walking across it.
"You want Haryana to give you more water for dilution of the pollutants in the river but show us what have you done. Yamuna in your territory has become a sewer line," the bench observed.
In his budget speech, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, while praising the mission, had specially mentioned about the Ganga gram scheme and declared that all 4,465 villages on the banks of the river had been declared open defecation free.
A bench headed by Acting NGT Chairperson Justice U D Salvi said it is undisputed that animal blood going into the river is an act of violation of the provisions of Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and it must be stopped.
The green tribunal directed the Delhi Development Authority to utilise Rs 5 crore, paid by the Art of Living Foundation last year as fine, for restoring the floodplains.
Expressing displeasure over the slow pace of the Yamuna rejuvenation programme, the NGT said the ground reality shows that the project, which was to be completed by March 31 this year, was far away from the target.
