There seems to be no respite from rain as the deep depression over Andhra Pradesh has already caused flooding in several places in the state, with the Met department predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in coastal Andhra and Yanam.
A fresh low-pressure area, brewing over the Bay of Bengal, is likely to trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha early next week, weather officials said on Friday.

A fresh spell of rains drenched the national capital on Monday, resulting in water-logging in some parts, with the weatherman predicting an increase in the intensity of showers over the next two days. According to the civic bodies, water-logging was reported in Kalkaji, New Friends Colony in southeast Delhi, Madhu Vihar in west Delhi and parts of north and northeast Delhi.
The IMD has issued a red alert of extremely heavy rainfall for two districts in Maharashtra—-Pune and Satara. On the other hand, the flood situation in Assam improved marginally, while Bihar continued to be in the grip of the deluge.
As per IMD's website, Thane city, Dombivli and Kalyan areas, which are part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), received more than 120 mm rainfall during the same period. Mumbai city and suburbs like Bandra and Kurla received rainfall in the range of 30 mm to 70 mm in the last 12 hours.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.4 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season’s average, while the minimum temperature settled at 24.9 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, it said. Humidity hovered between 83 per cent and 35 per cent.
