In Phase 3, stakes are high for the ruling BJP and its allies as they bagged 66 seats out of these 116 spread across 14 states and Union Territories in 2014 general election, while the Congress and its alliance partners won 27, and the rest went to other opposition parties and Independents.
The union minister also blamed the Congress president for not taking on the Left politics in Wayanad.

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi had more than one reason to choose Wayanad in Kerala as his second seat of the contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Apart from being a Congress bastion, the city also has a strong emotional connection with the party chief.
"We face problems due to attacks by elephants at our homes inside the forest. We won't cast vote this time. There is no use of participating in elections," a tribal woman said.

Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination papers before the District Collector AR Ajayakumar at the district headquarters in Kalpetta today.
Thursday is the last date for filing of nominations from Wayanad, with polling for all of Kerala's 20 Lok Sabha constituencies to be held on April 23.
