Barala, son of Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala, and his friend Ashish Kumar are facing trial on charges of stalking and attempt to kidnap Kundu in Chandigarh on the intervening night of August 4 and 5, 2017.
Varnika, who attended the last two hearings, wasn't present when the charges against Vikas and Ashish were framed. The court adjourned the hearing in the case to October 27.
The Punjab CM added that no political interference should be allowed and the police should have complete authority to probe the matter in a neutral manner under the due process of law.
According to India TV Sources, Vikas Barala has confessed during his interrogation that he was indeed chasing the vehicle of Varnika Kundu although he refused to say anything on the charges of “kidnapping” her.
