A video of the incident, in which a black SUV is seen dashing and going past a white SUV, reversing and then hitting it head-on, went viral on social media. Police filed a case and a probe is underway on the matter.
According to the police, the seriously injured person has been referred to a hospital in Meerut. The fatal incident occurred near Brajghat toll plaza on the Delhi-Lucknow Highway.
The truck driver was arrested and his vehicle was seized, the police added. The local people blocked the state highway, disrupting traffic. They also claimed that accidents are frequent in the area because of inadequate traffic management.
Total six people were rescued who are currently undergoing treatment, while no casualty is reported. The rescue operation went on for nearly two hours.
