"Our police are not idle. We are not like the BJP government. Whether it is a rape incident or not we can ascertain only after getting the post-mortem report," she said.
"When the last incident was reported, the government shielded criminals till the last. You can think how difficult it would have been for the woman and her patience to fight the battle,"
With 86 rape cases having been reported in Unnao from January to November this year, this district now qualifies to be known as the "rape capital" of Uttar Pradesh.
"The condition of the patient is extremely critical and she is on ventilator. Even her vitals are very low," said Dr Shalab Kumar, Head of Burn and Plastic Surgery at the hospital.
“She should be suspended immediately. She is a teacher and can’t even read…she can’t read English,” Devendra Pandey is seen telling other officials present at the spot.
The situation in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district has heated up once again as the protesting farmers allegedly set ablaze a pipe near the power substation. The agitated farmers also allegedly set a vehicle of the crusher plant on fire on Sunday.
On Tuesday morning, the truck driver and two other persons were sleeping in the truck parked outside the gas plant. There was a small gas cylinder in the truck that suddenly caught fire engulfing the entire vehicle.

A Delhi court Wednesday said Kuldeep Singh Sengar, being a legislator, has to be tried as a public servant and framed fresh charges against him for allegedly raping a minor in Unnao in 2017. The charges framed under section 3 and 4 (sexual assault against a child and its punishment) of the POCSO Act on August 9, were modified to section 5 (c) and 6 (public servant committing penetrative sexual assault against a child and its punishment) of the Act.
