As per the survey, the female unemployment rate in the urban areas decreased from 9.2 per cent in January-March 2023 to 8.5 per cent in January-March 2024.
Chhattisgarh ranks first in the country with the lowest unemployment rate while the country's unemployment rate stood at 7.6 percent in the same month (March), the statement said citing CMIE data.
On April 2, the ratio further dropped to 7.5 per cent, with the urban unemployment rate at 8.5 per cent and rural at 7.1 per cent.
The data showed that the unemployment rate in urban areas among males was estimated at 8.7 per cent during January-March 2019 as compared to 9 per cent during April-June 2018.
