Typhoon Molave set off landslides that killed at least 19 people and left 45 missing in central Vietnam, where ferocious wind and rain blew away roofs and knocked out power in a region of 1.7 million residents, state media said Thursday.
A powerful typhoon damaged buildings, flooded roads and knocked out power to thousands of homes in South Korea on Monday after battering islands in southern Japan, killing one person and injuring dozens of others.
China's National Meteorological Center (NMC) on Sunday renewed a blue alert for typhoon Bavi, which is expected to lash the country's south and southeast regions. The typhoon, the eighth of this year, strengthened from a tropical depression on Saturday morning and was observed at waters 390 km west of the city of Naha in Japan's Okinawa prefecture at 5 a.m.
Mekkhala is the second typhoon that landed in coastal areas of east China over the past week.
A typhoon brought high winds and heavy rains to China’s eastern coastal areas Tuesday and was headed toward the financial hub of Shanghai. China’s National Meteorological Center said Typhoon Hagiput made landfall in Zhejiang province around 3:30 a.m., with winds blowing up to 136.8 kilometers (85 miles) per hour at its center.

Typhoon Lingling swept along South Korea’s west coast on Saturday before making a landfall in North Korea. North Korea hasn’t publicized possible typhoon-related damage.
According to the forecast by South Korea's weather department, Seoul and some other areas will witness gusty winds at the speed of over 50 miles per hour along with heavy rains.
The death toll from a typhoon in eastern China has risen to 45, with an estimated 16 people missing.
The monster storm triggered heavy rainstorms in Yongjia County and caused a landslide that blocked the rivers, raising the water level to a maximum of 10 metre within 10 minutes and trapping 120 villages, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Maximum sustained winds of 180 mph (290 kph) were recorded around the eye of the storm, which passed over the islands of Tinian and Saipan early Thursday, the National Weather Service said.

More than 2.4 million people had been evacuated in southern China’s Guangdong province by Sunday evening to flee the massive typhoon and nearly 50,000 fishing boats were called back to port, state media reported.
