Telangana Police on Thursday arrested three persons including a leader of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in connection with the gruesome murder of an advocate couple.

There were celebrations at Telangana Bhavan on Friday when it appeared that TRS is heading to retain power in GHMC but couple of hours later gloom replaced that joy as the party began trailing BJP in 10-15 divisions.
The BJP, which had roped in its top leaders, including Amit Shah, JP Nadda and Yogi Adityanath for the campaining in the crucial polls pushed the AIMIM to the third spot in the results announced on Friday.

The massive efforts put in by the Bhartiya Janata Party in galvanising its vote base with the dazzle of senior leaders, has paid rich dividends. Even though the BJP manages to become the third largest party in the civic polls, the fact that its seat tally is less than 10% (3 - 4 seat) of the AIMIM, it's clear that BJP will emerge as the major opposition party in Telangana Assembly polls in due course.
