Asked about a possibility of bringing in an ordinance till the bill cleared, Ananth Kumar parried a direct reply and said: "The dates for the budget session have already been announced."
The winter session, which started on December 15 and concluded today on January 5, had 13 sittings spread over a period of 22 days. Both the Houses were adjourned sine die today.
The BJP leader's remarks came as the deadlock over the bill in the Rajya Sabha continued with the government rejecting the opposition's insistence on sending the bill to the Select Committee for detailed scrutiny.
The bill, which has divided political parties and drawn criticism from several Muslim bodies, was passed by the Lok Sabha on December 28. It now has to be passed by the Rajya Sabha to become a law.

Leader of the House Arun Jaitley accused Congress of sabotaging the bill and questioned the motions moved by Congress MP Anand Sharma and Sukhendu Sekhar Roy of TMC. He argued that the motions stand invalid on technical grounds.
The Union minister said he had "nothing to say about regional parties" as they might have opposed the bill due to "regional pressures".
Amid a demand by opposition parties that the bill, which criminalises instant talaq by Muslim men, be sent to a select committee, Jaitley said a debate over the bill was a must.
