The apex court initiated suo motu contempt proceedings against the vice chairman of the DDA over alleged cutting of 1,100 trees in the ridge forest for a road widening project.
The Northern Railway will further take the responsibility of maintaining the trees for the next seven years, as per the Delhi government’s guidelines.
