The Indian Railways on Thursday has cancelled more 84 trains taking total number to 155 due to low occupancy and as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus spread, according to PTI report. These trains will not operate between March 20 and March 31, officials said.
As many as 17 Odisha-bound trains were cancelled on Monday due to stir in West Bengal over amended citizenship law, officials said. Several other trains have also been partially cancelled.
Transportation took a hit on Friday due to ongoing protests against the amended Citizenship Act. Over 100 trains were either cancelled or short terminated by Northeast Frontier Railway. Buses too did not ply in Guwahati, which has been the epicenter of the violence.

As per ANI report, 36 trains were delayed, 13 cancelled and 2 rescheduled due to low visibility and other operational reasons.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius during the day, with lows of 10 degrees Celsius.
"There was moderate fog in the morning reducing the visibility to 500 meters. The sky will be partly cloudy during the day," an India Meteorological Department official said.
As per ANI report, 25 trains have been delayed, 12 cancelled and two rescheduled owing to foggy conditions.
