Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday while interacting with reporters asserted that Railway Board is recommending a CBI probe into the Balasore Train Tragedy that claimed 275 lives. The incident, one of the deadliest train accidents in India happened on June 2.
Addressing a press conference in Kolkata on Sunday, Mamata asserted that the BJP-led government has changed the numbers-- a rhetoric she cited while visiting the accident site on Saturday.
"I have seen rumours being spread about overriding of signals and speed. But, these are just rumours. Both the drivers said they moved the train after getting a green signal and were moving at a speed of 128 km per hour," said the railway official.
Odisha: Over 1,000 people have been injured in the Balasore train accident, which involved two passenger trains and a goods carriage. To date, 288 people have died in the incident.

The goods train was stationed in a loop line beside the tracks through which the Coromandel Express was passing when it got derailed and some of its coaches fell on it.
The two trains were carrying around 2,000 passengers. At least 261 people have been killed in the accident and nearly 1,000 were injured.
The accident, involving three trains, is one of the worst in the country and took place in Balasore district on Friday night. The accident also injured more than 900 people.
