A 28-year-old man died after being allegedly thrashed by a group of men when his motorcycle hit a woman in Rajasthan's Alwar district, police said on Friday.
A woman was abducted and her husband severely beaten up for marrying against the will of her family. A video showing the couple being thrashed by the woman's family went viral on social media, creating outrage. The incident took place on Monday in Bhojupura area, Police said.
"Two cops, one Sub Inspector and one Assistant Sub Inspector, have been suspended for dereliction of duty. Five people have been arrested so far," said a Deputy Superintendent of Police to IANS over the phone, asking not to be named.
Police said, reported ANI, “We are investigating the matter. The culprits will be arrested soon.”
On Akash's complaint, the girl's father Virpal was arrested and a case has been registered against several persons, the SHO said.
