According to police, they started a cordon and search operation after they received specific information about the presence of terrorists in Bakoora village, following which the militants opened fire.
Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter.

Two-three militants were trapped in a house and an exchange of fire happened in Zagoo Arizal area between the militants and the security forces.
Sub-inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, posted with the CID in Srinagar's Sheergadi, was on his way to his home when he was targeted by terrorists.
In Pulwama district, suspected terrorists attacked Army camp in Tral's Bajwani. No loss of life or property was reported.

While four militants were killed in Arwani operation in Anantnag district, two ultras were eliminated in an encounter at Kreeri in Baramulla.

The injured police personnel has been shifted to hospital.
The duo, hailing from Kashmir, was arrested on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, an official said.
The entire area was cordoned off.
