Five Armymen, including two JCOs, and a father of another personnel died and 11 injured in a attack by JeM terrorists on the Army camp in Sunjwan in Jammu city.
The top police official said three more Army men and a civilian, who was the father of an Army personnel, were killed, taking the toll to six.
“The incident took place due to presence of Rohingyas in the area,” Kavinder Gupta said.
According to reports, terrorists fired shots at the hospital in Srinagar when policemen were escorting a Pakistani prisoner Naveed. The prisoner escaped during the firing. One police personnel has passed away, while another is injured.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility but Taliban and Islamic State militants have stepped up assaults in recent months, with ordinary Afghans bearing the brunt of the violence.
