Sheikh Hasina, who resigned and fled to India on August 5, was slapped with a murder case on Tuesday and a case of enforced disappearance on Wednesday. Her extended stay in India has reportedly threatened to put a strain between India and the interim government in Bangladesh.
The suspected attacker was a former student of the school and was reportedly under surveillance by French intelligence agencies for radicalisation. He is alleged to have shouted 'Allahu Akbar' during the attack, which killed a French language teacher and wounded three others.
The student reportedly shouted 'Allahu Akbar' proceeding with the stabbing attack, according to a police officer. The attack comes amid heightened tensions between France's Jewish and Muslim populations over the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas that has claimed hundreds of lives.
