Suvendu Adhikari referred to raids against TMC and said "Enforcement Directorate(ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are doing their job."
Adhikari called this vicious act "blatant misuse" of West Bengal police against him.

West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday was summoned by CID in connection with the unnatural death case of his guard Subhabrata Chakraborty. The BJP leader has been asked to appear before CID on Monday.
Lashing out at the Bengal government, Suvendu Adhikari said, "the post-poll violence in West Bengal has left behind the Calcutta killings, and the Noakhali (in Bangladesh now) riots of 1946, and the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The more the inaction of government machinery during the post-poll violence is criticized, the less it is."

Adhikari's personal security guard had allegedly shot himself dead with his service revolver in 2018 in a police barrack in Kanthi in Purba Medinipur district.
As per the result declared by the Election Commission, Suvendu Adhikari defeated Mamata Banerjee by a margin of 1,956 votes.
It was claimed that Justice Chanda was an active member of the BJP till his appointment as the Additional Solicitor General of India in 2015.
Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal assembly, had also denied the meeting, saying that he had recently gone to Mehta's residence in Delhi regarding a case related to "post-poll violence" in the state but "could not meet him in person".
