A CBI spokesperson here said, "After getting the notification from the Central government, CBI is in the process of registration of the case." He said the agency is in touch with the Bihar Police. The development comes a day after the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued a notification, paving the way for the central investigative agency to register a case.

In her plea filed in the apex court, Chakraborty has alleged that Rajput's father has used his "influence" in roping her in FIR lodged at Patna in Bihar accusing her of abetment of suicide of his son.

The state police wrote a letter to the civic body protesting its move against its senior officer, who was specifically sent to Mumbai on Sunday to probe allegations of abetment to suicide raised by the late actor's father.
Raising the issue in the House, Neeraj Kumar Bablu, MLA and brother of late Sushant Singh Rajput, said that the Maharashtra Police is not cooperating with Bihar Police which has gone to Mumbai to probe the alleged suicide case. He said that the investigation would not be carried out properly in such a situation.
