According to preliminary investigation of the Army, the three terrorists were hiding in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir for the past seven months and were looking at carrying out an attack.

According to doctors, both mother and the new-born are in good health. The child weighs 2.5 kg, the doctors said.
The BJP, which is the junior partner in the PDP-led government, said the circumstances reveal the attack could have been executed with local aid and as such it is imperative to apprehend all involved.
Randeep Surjewala said it was a matter of deep concern that 14 major terror attacks have taken place on the Army in Jammu and Kashmir since 2014, after the NDA government came to power.
CM Mufti also interacted with the doctors and enquired about the condition of the injured. She assured all support from the state government in their treatment, the spokesperson was quoted as saying in a statement.
Special police check posts were put up to thwart any attempt by anti-social elements to disturb peace. A tight vigil is being maintained, Pathankot SSP Vivek Sheel Soni said.
