According to latest updates, the injured soldiers have been admitted to a hospital near Raipur for treatment.
At least two Naxals, including a woman, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
They were allegedly involved in several naxal-related incidents, including planting of IED (Improvised Explosive Device) on Dornapal-Jagargunda road in September last year.
The arrested were allegedly involved in carrying out IED blasts targeting the security forces and firing on police teams in Sukma region.
The arrested Maoists were active as members of the Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangthan (DAKMS), a front organisation of the Naxals, he said.
On April 24 this year, 25 CRPF personnel, who were providing security for a road construction work, were killed in a Naxal attack in Burkapal area of Sukma.
The STF men were patrolling an area of the Tundamarka forests in Chintagufa area around 10 a.m. when they came under fire from a group of Maoists. In the ensuing exchange of fire, two of them were killed and five were injured.
Security forces have been continuously undertaking search operations in Chintalnar, Chintagufa and Jagargunda areas of the district, around 400 kms away from here, following the Burkapal incident.
The composite squads of District Reserve Guard (DRG), district force and CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) were out on a search operation in the forests of Chintagufa and Chintalnar, around 450 kms away from here.
Sukma and its adjoining areas have witnessed some of the deadliest ambushes on security forces recently like the one where 25 CRPF men were killed in the Burkapal area of the district on April 24.
The newly appointed CRPF Director General Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar has been asked to ensure that the command begins functioning from Raipur before the high-level meeting of LWE hit states here tomorrow.
