Singh’s comments came just hours after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh termed the massacre of 25 CRPF personnel ‘cold blooded murder’ and said that the government will review its anti-Maoist strategy.
According to officials, the jawans were having lunch when a hail of bullets and grenades hit them fatally.
On Monday, 300 to 400 heavily armed Maoists, including women, ambushed a Central Reserve Police Force contingent in a forested patch in Sukma in Chhattisgarh.
According to intelligence inputs, Hidima, who has been active in the region from past few months, was also involved in the last month’s attack that left 12 security personnel dead.
Addressing the media here along with Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, the Home Minister said that the ‘government will take strong action against those responsible’.
Chhattisgarh Governor Balramji Das Tandon, Chief Minister Raman Singh, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir and senior state and paramilitary officials were also present on the occasion.
This was the second attack in just over one month in the same district. The last was on March 11 when 12 security personnel were killed.
