BSNL gained over 5 million subscribers following the tariff hikes by Jio, Airtel, and Vi. However, this growth has slowed, and some subscribers are considering returning to Jio and Airtel due to quality issues.
In the past four months, BSNL has gained hundreds of thousands of new mobile users. Most of these users are MNP (Mobile Number Portability) customers who have switched their numbers from other operators to BSNL.
TRAI has released its telecom subscriber report for August. The report indicates that BSNL is gaining new subscribers, while private telecom operators are struggling following the recent tariff hike.
According to the latest TRAI data, internet subscribers in India increased in the April-June quarter. This quarter witnessed a rise in broadband users, while the number of narrowband users declined.
BSNL has added lakhs of new subscribers after the tariff hike from major telecom operators such as Jio, Airtel, and Vi. BSNL's market share now reached 7.59 percent.
