The incident occurred Tuesday evening, when Gaurav Singh, pursuing his masters in the university and residing in its Lal Bahadur Shastri Hostel in the campus was standing outside his hostel, talking to his friends.
Abdullah Khan, a student of Shree LR Tiwari Engineering College situated in Mira Road, was invited for an interview conducted by Google after viewing his profile on a site.
The deceased's mother told police she received a message from her son on Saturday that "he was under tremendous stress."

Meanwhile, DMK chief M K Stalin came out in the student’s defence and demanded her release.
The matter was brought to light through a Facebook post written by the student's father, Ummer Malayil.
"They took turns to rape her. Thereafter, they poisoned her and fled from the spot. The girl somehow managed to reach home and narrate her ordeal to parents before she losing consciousness," SHO said.
Livid at being reprimanded, a class 12 student today allegedly pumped four bullets into his school principal here with his father's licenced .32 bore revolver, police said.
