Police teams were stationed outside the Vice-Chancellor's office and university officials were seen attempting to de-escalate the situation as hundreds of students held sit-in there, demanding justice.
The deceased was a native of Uttar Pradesh. His body was found in his room in the Brahmaputra Hostel. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
This is the twelfth case of suspected suicide by a coaching student in Kota since January. The number of student suicides in Kota stood at 26 in 2023.

According to the complaint filed at Vasant Vihar Police Station, the boy’s father alleged that his son was asked to pay a hefty fine for a chair he broke in the school.
