Media reports suggested that the CRPF vehicle lost control as it was attacked by the locals with stones, despite the ongoing ceasefire for the month of Ramzaan.
In an interview to The Indian Express, General Rawat said, "I want to tell Kashmiri youth that Azadi isn't possible. It won't happen. Don't get carried away unneccessarily. Why are you picking up weapons? We will always fight those who seek Azadi, those who want to secede. Azadi is not going to happen, never."
The tourist, identified as R Thirumani, 22, son of Rajwali, of Chennai was injured when stone pelters attacked a tourist vehicle in Narbal area on Srinagar-Gulmarg road.
After Wednesday's stonepelting incident, most of the Kashmiris have started saying that such stonepelters, who defy all canons of human values, have no right to live.
A group of miscreants pelted stones on the bus of Rainbow High School at Zavoora in Shopian, resulting in head injury to a class 2 student, a police official said.
Army fired in the air to chase away protesters who pelted them with stones near Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora.
In their complaint, the children have said they were "disturbed" by the recent incidents of stone-pelting and assaults by mobs on security forces, according to the statement.
