The Reserve Bank of India employees, however, have supported the strike only on January 8.
Earlier on November 22, SBI held e-auction of 11 NPA accounts that had outstanding dues of Rs 1,019 crore towards the bank.
Of these 11 accounts, Janki Corp Ltd has the highest outstanding dues of Rs 592.53 crore.
According to a PTI report, the SBI decision is expected to impact more than 42 crore bank customers.
The candidates having successfully cleeared the SBI PO mains exam will have to appear for the interview.
Replying to RTI activist Chandrashekhar Gaud's query, SBI said that 669 cases of fraud amounting to Rs 723.06 crore were reported in the first quarter (April-June). While 660 cases, involving an amount of Rs 4,832.42 crore, came to the fore in the second quarter (July-September).
SBI has asked the interested ARCs/FIs to conduct the due diligence of assets with immediate effect.

The State Bank has 41 crore savings bank accounts. Of that, 16 crore are under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana/basic savings bank deposit.
The minimum balance limit for SBI customers is Rs 3,000 for metro and urban centres, Rs 2,000 for semi-urban areas and Rs 1,000, while certain groups exempted from the restrictions of maintaining a minimum balance.
The gross non-performing assets (NPAs) of all the banks in the country amounted to Rs 8.41 lakh crore at end-December, bulk of which is in the books of public sector banks (PSBs).
In an SBI Ecowrap report titled "The Arithmetic of GST Collections", Chief Economist Soumya Kanti Ghosh noted that the speculative collection target pegged at Rs 7.4 lakh crore is 67 per cent higher than the revised estimates (RE) for FY 2017-18.
