Brace yourself: The snow’s not done yet. Himachal Pradesh experienced dry and cold weather on Wednesday with a number of places of tourist attraction in the state shivering at sub-zero temperatures. The minimum temperature was one to two notches below normal while the maximum hovered three to four degrees below normal since Tuesday. The mercury in Leh and Drass in Ladakh plummeted to minus 19.1 degrees Celsius and minus 28.6 degrees Celsius respectively. Water supply lines froze at several places in Srinagar as the minimum temperature in the city settled at minus 5.8 degrees Celsius on Friday night.
Fresh spell of snowfall on Friday in Kashmir has forced diversion of two Srinagar-bound flights, officials of the Airport Authority of India said here. "Two Srinagar-bound flights have been diverted so far due to snowfall. If the weather continues to remain like this, the operations will have to be suspended for the rest of the day," the officials said.

The long, unsettled issue of relocation of the Damdama Sahib Gurdwara at Zainakote-- whose case has been in court since 2015-- was resolved on the occasion, the spokesman said, adding it was agreed that the administration would provide land at an adjacent spot and reconstruct the Gurdwara.
The night temperature, however, is likely to improve in the coming days under the influence of Western Disturbance which is likely to hit the region on Wednesday, bringing another spell of snow and rains.
The night temperature started a downward spiral across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh after snowfall in the higher reaches and rains in the plains last week. However, the day temperature improved as weatherman had forecast dry weather till December 10.
